Halloween Scares Up Some Caregiver Horror Stories
We recently scanned the Internet and found some that would make your hair stand up on end.
● A woman left someone’s elderly mother in a hot car for two hours while she visited her boyfriend, all under the pretense that she was “taking her to the park.”
● Another caregiver just walked off the job one day without telling anyone, leaving her charge to wander around alone until her daughter drove up and found her mother walking around outside.
● One woman who had already been convicted for stealing over $18,000 from her own mother was hired to take care of an 82 year old woman and then went on to steal from her and even tried to put her house up for sale.
● One caregiver neglected to give an elder a shower over a three month period because he said the gentleman had physical limitations but refused to learn how to work around them in order to offer the necessary care.
